How we work
We offer a face to face consultation process and a convenient follow-up service via by skype which can be conducted in any location and outside normal business hours on request.
We take the time to thoroughly investigate what is going on in your body, how to overcome your particular issues and what is required to maintain optimal health and performance in the long-term. We prefer to have a clear picture and thorough understanding of your issues and goals before we prescribe naturopathic medicines. Our focus is on identifying underling causes of complaints in addition to symptom management.
To make our time together as efficient as possible we suggest all new patients complete the new patient form before their first appointment. This form is available below by clicking on the New Patient Form. The information you provide is strictly confidential and will be discussed in your initial appointment. We encourage patients to bring along any pathology or other medical tests completed in the past 12 months to their first appointment. Please request a copy of these from your medical practitioner. Naturopath’s are trained to look for patterns and information in pathology results that may vary slightly from a GP’s or sports medicine doctor, so it is important to bring all tests along with you.
We will consider all of your medical information during our initial appointment as part of a detailed case history.
In your initial appointment, we also clinically investigate your current condition including assessment of deficiencies or imbalances through examinations and variety of testing methods and investigations. We may also refer for additional tests when required.
Initial symptomatic treatment may be suggested while further investigations are taking place.
A separate testing appointment may be required for complex or chronic conditions.
In your first subsequent appointment we will discuss test results, your overall health status, and then a recommended treatment plan which will enable you to achieve your health and sporting goals.
We utilise a combination of empirical evidence and the latest scientific research to recommend safe and effective medicines and treatment options that are specifically tailored to your presentation. In complex or chronic conditions this may require a detailed comprehensive treatment plan. Our treatment plans include health information and a step by step guide for you to follow. The treatment plan will take into account immediate health or sports performance requirements and long term considerations .
In subsequent appointments we measure your progress against baseline findings and if required, make modifications to your treatment plan to further increase the desired response.
We work collaboratively with other medical specialists and sports practitioners to obtain the best outcomes for patients.
In fairness to our patients and practitioners, we enforce a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you are unable to make your appointment please call us at your earliest convenience. Should you either forget your appointment or cancel within 24 hours, you will be charged 50% of your appointment fee.
